This course can be taken after completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification. It’s titled PADI Advanced Open Water Diver because it advances your diving knowledge & skills.
Description
You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation. The other electives we offer are Wreck, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Rescue, Search & Recovery.
During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.
The other knowledge and skills you get vary with the dives of the course. your interest and the adventures you have – buoyancy control, exploring wrecks and many more.
What will you learn?
You will complete the knowledge review portion of the course at home before the course starts
During the course, you will spend some time in the classroom checking your knowledge and understanding with your instructor and preparing you for the Open Water dives
Most of the course is focused on the adventure dives where you will get to learn new skills and experience different aspects of diving
How long will it take?
The course generally lasts 2 full days
What will you get from it?
As a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, you will be qualified to dive to 30m with the world’s most recognised Diver training agency
Through the course, you will have the opportunity to expand your diving experience, learn new skills and refine your existing ones
Age Requirements
You must be 12 years old to enrol on this course at Stoney Cove
Course Prerequisites
You must be able to swim and be medically fit to dive
You must be a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent qualification from another agency)
Equipment
All equipment hire is included in the price, however, you will get much more enjoyment from the course if you get your own mask and snorkel
It is recommended that you have your own compass and cutting device or dive tool.

There are no hidden extras with your course at the Diveschool @ Stoney Cove. Entry fees, air fills, kit hire, course materials and PADI certification fees are all included.
